Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
Art D. Rodriguez is Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. As Carleton’s chief enrollment officer, he leads the offices of admissions and financial aid. With a focus on access, affordability, and student success, Art provides strategic direction for the college’s enrollment policies. Prior to joining Carleton in July 2019, Art served as Dean of Admissions and Student Financial Services at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. In collaboration with former Vassar President Catherine Bond Hill, he supported and developed approaches to increasing the number of low-income students attending the college. From 2000-2014, he served in various roles, including Acting Dean of Admissions and Director of Admissions, at Pomona College in Claremont, CA. Art is a member of the Board of Directors of The Common App, and has previously served on committees for the College Board, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, and National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). He earned a B.A. from Carleton College and a Ed.M. at Harvard University.
