Kirk earned his Bachelor’s degree in Cinematic Arts in 1989 with a dream to bring forward voices that need to be heard. He discovered purely by accident that college admission officers do this every day; we change the world by bringing together a community of learners.
Kirk has served USC for nearly 30 years, and was named Director of Undergraduate Admission in 2011. Each year his office reviews admission applications for first-years and transfers (over 70,000 in 2018), visits over 2,000 high schools, participates in 500 college fairs and information nights each year, and receives over 100,000 guests at campus tours, info sessions, and receptions. Kirk frequently presents on various subjects, including selective college admission, private colleges, SAT usage, interviews, and home schooling. He is a member of WACAC and NACAC, has served on advisory committees for The Common Application and the International Baccalaureate program.
Kirk married his USC sweetheart 25 years ago. They survived sending two daughters to college, are willing to talk about it, and they always fly a USC banner on game day.
